Abstract

Adrenal hemorrhage due to birth trauma is a complication that can be seen in neonates. The most common symptoms are anemia, prolonged jaundice, and a palpable mass in the abdomen. It can rarely lead to hypertension secondary to the compression effect. The clinical manifestations of hypertension in neonates may sometimes be very difficult to detect. In this article, we present a case of hypertension that developed in a neonate who had a history of birth trauma and adrenal hemorrhage. It has been reported only a few cases in the English-language literature. Therefore, neonates who had a history of birth trauma, especially adrenal hemorrhage, should be monitored carefully for hypertension.
